Support for the TypingTutor.Online extension

Quick fixes

  1. Open chrome://extensions/.
  2. Find the TypingTutor.Online extension.
  3. Select Reload if Developer mode is enabled, or close and reopen Chrome.
  4. Confirm Chrome is updated.
  5. Try the feature again in a normal browser tab rather than a protected Chrome page.

The popup does not open

Reload the extension, restart Chrome, and confirm the extension is enabled. If the icon is hidden, pin it from Chrome’s Extensions menu.

The practice page does not receive typing

Click inside the typing area once, then press the highlighted key. Confirm another browser shortcut, input method, or accessibility utility is not intercepting the key.

“Practice typing selected text” is missing

  • Reload the webpage after installing or updating the extension.
  • Select actual webpage text before right-clicking.
  • Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, PDFs opened in protected viewers, and some browser-managed pages may restrict context-menu behavior.
  • Reload the extension from chrome://extensions/.

A reminder did not appear

  • Confirm reminders are enabled in the extension.
  • Confirm Chrome notifications are allowed in the operating system.
  • Keep Chrome available around the selected reminder time.
  • Disable and re-enable the reminder after changing the time.

Progress appears missing

Progress is local to the current Chrome profile. It will not automatically appear in a different profile, browser, device, or private/incognito session. Removing the extension or clearing extension storage can remove progress.

Report a problem

Use the TypingTutor.Online contact page and include:

  • Extension version shown in the footer
  • Chrome version and operating system
  • The page or feature you were using
  • Exact steps that reproduce the issue
  • A screenshot with private information removed
  • Any error shown on chrome://extensions/

No account, payment, subscription, or test credentials are required. Reviewers can test beginner lessons from the popup, quick practice, and the selected-text context-menu command on any normal webpage.
