Getting started
- Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar.
- Choose your learning level during first-time setup.
- Complete beginners should select Complete beginner and start Lesson 1.
- Returning learners can continue the current lesson or open quick practice.
Use the beginner course
The beginner course contains 24 progressive lessons. It begins with F and J, expands across the home row, and then introduces upper-row keys, lower-row keys, words, capitals, numbers, and punctuation.
- Press the highlighted key with the highlighted finger.
- An incorrect key counts as an error and does not advance the exercise.
- Reach the lesson’s accuracy target to unlock the next lesson.
- Your current lesson and completion state are saved locally.
Start quick practice
Choose a 1-minute or 3-minute session from the popup. The practice page displays WPM, accuracy, errors, time, and text completion.
Use Pause when interrupted. Paused and inactive time is not counted. Restart resets the current exercise, and Finish saves the completed result.
Practice text selected on a webpage
- Select readable text on a normal webpage.
- Right-click the selected text.
- Choose Practice typing selected text.
- The extension opens a local practice session containing that text.
Daily goals and streaks
Your daily practice goal is measured in minutes. Lesson and quick-practice activity can contribute to the goal. A streak increases when the daily goal is completed on consecutive days.
Optional practice reminders
Reminders are off by default. Enable one in settings, choose a time, and allow Chrome notifications. You can disable reminders again at any time.
Settings, progress, and reset
Use the settings button in the popup to change level, daily goal, reminder time, and appearance. Course progress and practice history are stored in the Chrome profile where the extension is installed.
Reset controls permanently remove the selected local progress. This action cannot be undone.
