Typing Without Highlight: When Plain Text Practice Can Help

Typing without highlight removes colored correct/wrong characters and current-word highlighting so you can practise reading and typing plain text while still receiving a result at the end.

What “typing without highlight” means

In a normal tutor, the current character or word may be highlighted and mistakes may turn red. In Typing Without Highlight, the passage stays neutral. Only a small caret shows your position; accuracy and errors are calculated quietly.

Why practise without colored feedback?

Visual feedback is useful while learning. Later, some people want practice that resembles ordinary writing, where the application does not coach every keystroke. Plain text can help shift attention from the interface to the sentence and your finger rhythm.

Learn first, then remove guidance

If you still search for keys, keep the guidance. Use the touch typing course first. Removing feedback too early can make practice frustrating without improving technique.

Do not confuse no-highlight with no timer or no backspace

Plain text practice should still be readable

No-highlight does not mean hiding the passage, removing spacing, or making the interface confusing. The text should remain easy to read. The only thing removed is coaching color. This distinction matters because the goal is to reduce visual dependence, not to create an artificial obstacle.
