A quick speed-and-accuracy check
The 30-second typing test is useful after a short practice session when children can already find familiar keys. A faster result matters less than correctly typing the characters that appear.
Two attempts on different days can show whether the same keys cause mistakes. Record both speed and accuracy; a short timed result can change considerably from one attempt to the next.
This is a practice checkpoint, not a qualifying one-minute certificate test.
Try this practice routine
- Warm up with a few accurate home-row patterns.
- Try 30 seconds at a comfortable pace and review the result.
- If accuracy drops, use a short lesson before testing again.
Next step: When 30 seconds feels comfortable, continue to a longer test. One-minute Kids typing test →
