Understand a full-minute Kids typing result
A one-minute session helps children practise staying accurate for longer than a very short speed check. Watch WPM, accuracy and errors together; the best result is one the learner can repeat comfortably.
A completed test lasting at least 60 seconds may contribute evidence toward certain Kids certificates, but only when the specific certificate requirements are met. A test by itself never guarantees a certificate.
For younger learners, encourage steady breathing, relaxed wrists and a brief pause between attempts.
Try this practice routine
- Review the onscreen keyboard and identify the F and J home keys.
- Type through the full minute; keep attention on the text rather than the score.
- Compare accuracy with the previous attempt and choose one skill to practise next.
