What this game practises

Word Race now draws from more than 180 child-friendly words grouped by difficulty. Short familiar words appear first, then longer school and everyday vocabulary is introduced across five levels without constant repetition.

Three-minute challenge: Beginner → Normal → Advanced → Adaptive. Stages advance automatically during active play; the final pace responds to your speed and accuracy. Beat your score while protecting your accuracy. Pauses freeze supported game clocks, and lives-based games can end early if all chances are used.

Use the race to develop word fluency

Word Race rewards recognizing and completing words as the race unfolds. Its vocabulary grows across five levels, so later rounds are better suited to children who already type common short words accurately.

The goal is not to beat other children or chase a high score. Try to finish the current word cleanly; if the child makes frequent errors, return to an easier practice activity before racing again.

Try this practice routine

  1. Choose an easy level and read the word before starting.
  2. Type the full word steadily and notice letters that are often mistyped.
  3. Compare how confidently the same words can be typed in a non-game setting.
