A balanced routine

Kids Typing Practice Plan

A useful session combines structured learning, a short performance check, and playful repetition without making speed the only goal.

Choose a daily goal

0/10minutes today

The goal is flexible. Missed days never remove stars, badges, or certificates.

Simple session formula

  1. Lesson: 2–5 minutes of guided cumulative typing.
  2. Test: one short test to observe accuracy and WPM.
  3. Game: one learning game that practises the same skills.
  4. Break: stop if hands, wrists, neck, or eyes feel tired.

Practical daily routine

Example ten-minute practice plan for children

Practice can be short and still be meaningful. A beginner might spend three minutes on a home-row lesson, two minutes slowly repeating difficult keys, two minutes in an easy typing game and three minutes on a short test or review.

The daily goal buttons are flexible targets, not requirements. Children who are tired or uncomfortable should stop and rest instead of chasing a streak. Choose suitable exercises for the learner’s age, reading level and confidence.

Parents and teachers can check the Kids progress page for recently recorded practice and celebrate accuracy gains before introducing ambitious WPM goals.
