TypingTutor.Online is a guided touch-typing course designed to help beginners build correct finger habits before working on speed. The course starts with the home-row keys, introduces new keys gradually, and gives you clear feedback on accuracy, errors, typing time, and progress.

Start with correct finger placement

Place your left fingers on A, S, D, and F and your right fingers on J, K, L, and semicolon. Use the raised bumps on F and J to find the home row without looking down. Keep your wrists relaxed and allow each finger to return to its home position after pressing a key.

Build accuracy before speed

Fast typing develops naturally when keystrokes become accurate and comfortable. Aim for the lesson target, correct recurring mistakes, and avoid rushing. A steady rhythm with fewer errors is more valuable than a high words-per-minute result with poor control.

Practise in short, regular sessions

Ten focused minutes each day can be more effective than one long practice session each week. Complete the warm-up, continue through every lesson stage, and repeat difficult lessons when needed. Your progress is saved in this browser so you can continue from your current lesson.

How to use this typing tutor effectively

What the complete course teaches

The lessons progress from F, J, and the Spacebar to the full home row, top row, bottom row, capital letters, numbers, punctuation, words, sentences, rhythm, and mastery practice. New keys are introduced gradually so learners are not expected to memorise the entire keyboard at once.

You may choose Classic, Articulated, Capsule, or Side Hands guidance below the keyboard. These visual modes change only the way finger movement is presented; the lesson content, scoring, and progress remain the same.

Should I look at the keyboard while learning?

Try to keep your eyes on the screen. Use the bumps on F and J to relocate the home row, and move only the finger assigned to the required key.

How often should a beginner practise?

A consistent daily session of around 10 to 15 minutes is a practical starting point. Stop when your hands become tense or your accuracy begins to fall.

When should I try to type faster?

Increase speed only after you can complete the current key combinations with good accuracy and relaxed finger movement. Reliable technique should come first.
