Stop
Make a full stop at the line or before the crosswalk, then check traffic before proceeding.
Ready to exploreA road safety typing adventure with decisions that matter.
Loading signs, routes and your controls.
You are approaching the stop line. The intersection is clear.
Type the matching answer, or select its card first.
Explore 64 common US-style signs across seven categories. Each card explains the meaning and opens a focused typing lesson. These simplified illustrations use readable word labels; some real signs use pictograms instead. This collection covers common signs, not every sign or regional variation.

Ready to exploreA green light can still mean wait when the exit is blocked. Read the scene and its short description before choosing your action.
Correct first choices are counted separately from typing accuracy. Quickly completing an incorrect answer never earns a correct decision.
Ten gradual routes add sign meanings, crossings, warnings, roadworks and route guidance. Corrections keep the training car stopped until you choose a safer action.
RoadWise combines keyboard practice with short road situations. An illustrated training vehicle approaches a sign, signal or hazard. Three action cards give possible responses. You choose an action and type its word, number or phrase. The game then shows the result in the road scene and explains why that action fits the situation.
Some answers share their first letters. You can type enough letters to identify your choice, or select its card before typing. Selecting a card does not complete the action for you. Correctly typed characters turn green; an incorrect character stays on the same position so you can correct it. Use Clear choice to start a different word. Backspace also clears your selection without adding a typing error.
Sign missions alternate between reading a sign name and choosing its meaning. Practice includes lane changes, turn restrictions, rail crossings, school zones, roadworks, services and recreation guidance. The route uses shuffled question decks and remembers recent scenes in this browser. Choose a category before starting to practise its full collection from level one.
Collect five correct first choices in a row, explore ten different signs and work toward the complete collection. Your explored-sign collection is saved in this browser across visits. Streak milestones reward the current drive and do not inflate typing scores. Explore the sign cards below the game to learn the meaning, then practise a particular sign immediately.
Typing accuracy measures accepted characters compared with typing mistakes. Correct first choices measure how often you initially choose the expected answer. A fully typed incorrect choice can therefore have perfect spelling while still reducing your first-choice score. Running out of decision time counts as a missed opportunity. A correct retry helps you learn and move on, but does not rewrite your first decision.
The vehicle remains stopped while you read and type. After a safe answer, a short animated sequence demonstrates stopping, allowing traffic through, slowing down or choosing another route. The game pace is an illustrative number, not a realistic vehicle simulation. You never earn extra safety points by increasing WPM. RoadWise results are typing practice records, not driving qualifications or typing certificates.
Each adventure route lasts three minutes of active play and automatically opens the next level. Early routes introduce stop signs and clear signals. Town routes add crossings and blocked junctions. Later levels introduce posted limits, bends, wet roads, fog, dusk, roadworks and preparation for a longer journey. Level ten mixes the complete collection of sign lessons and road situations. Decision windows shorten gradually; phrases receive extra time.
If you choose an incorrect answer, the game pauses the situation and shows an explanation. After a short reading break, the same situation returns for a retry without a countdown. You can also choose Try the situation again immediately. Calm learning removes all decision deadlines and advances a route after eight resolved situations. Finish saves your session whenever you want to stop.
This edition uses simplified US-style signs and miles per hour. The red octagonal stop sign, triangular yield sign and rectangular speed-limit sign follow familiar US conventions. Weather and preparation badges are game illustrations, not official traffic signs. Speed questions ask you to read a displayed maximum; a posted limit does not mean that speed is suitable for every condition. Weather and visibility can call for a lower pace and more space.
The situations cover clear examples rather than every legal exception. For example, the red-light scene asks about continuing straight ahead, and the yellow-light scene says that there is room to stop safely. A crossing scene includes a pedestrian already in your path. Use the sign, the scene and the written context together to choose the offered action.
RoadWise is a typing learning game. Actual driving rules vary by country and jurisdiction; use your local driver handbook and qualified instruction for driving decisions. The content was checked against the California DMV traffic-control guidance, DMV safe-driving guidance, and NHTSA weather guidance. For a reference chart, see FHWA US road symbol signs. For official sign conventions, see the FHWA Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Use a physical keyboard directly or tap Open keyboard on a phone. No visible input box covers the road. The action cards remain available below the scene. Escape pauses or resumes; leaving the browser tab pauses automatically. Sound can be switched off, and reduced-motion preferences simplify the scene animation. Words with spaces and numeric sign answers use the same input controls.
Each completed route and the final partial route use the existing game history system, without counting the same practice time twice. Guest results remain in this browser; supported account progress sync continues when signed in. The result screen offers review of unsafe or missed situations and practice of their correct action words. Detailed decision review is available for the current expedition. Your explored-sign collection and recent-question history are stored in this browser; they are not part of account sync. Clearing site data can remove that collection.

Yes. It is labelled Premium and currently open for testing while subscriptions are being prepared, matching the existing Premium preview policy.
No. A mistyped character affects typing accuracy. A completed incorrect answer affects the first-choice score. The two measures stay separate.
The car remains stopped, the correct action is explained, and you retry the same situation without a deadline. Choose Calm learning for a session without countdown pressure throughout.
