YOUR FIELD NOTES

Wildlife journal 0 / 20

Collect all twenty animals. Your best photo quality stays in this browser.

01 · FOLLOW

A clue opens the trail

Type the word on the trail card. Correct letters turn green. A completed clue reveals the next animal; errors stay on the current letter so you can correct them.

02 · DISCOVER

Take the photograph

Complete a varied photo prompt before the opportunity closes. Later levels include short phrases: type spaces as well as letters. Accurate typing earns a sharper photo. A missed animal walks away and another clue appears immediately.

03 · COLLECT

Keep your discoveries

Explore forest, wetlands, mountains, jungle and night woodland. New vocabulary and small timing changes develop across ten levels. Collect better photographs on another expedition.

A typing quest through five wildlife habitats

Typing Quest combines word practice with an illustrated wildlife photography adventure. You follow tracks through changing scenery, reveal animals and complete photo prompts to fill a field journal. Each encounter has two steps: a shuffled trail clue followed by a photo prompt. This encourages steady attention to the next letter rather than repeatedly pressing one key.

The first forest levels use short clues such as paw, leaf and den. Later habitats introduce words about rivers, mountains, jungle trails and nighttime exploration. Animals range from foxes and hares to herons, eagles and raccoons. The scenes are playful collections rather than a precise representation of where every species lives.

Fresh words and discovery goals

Each level draws from a shuffled vocabulary deck: every clue in that level is used before the deck repeats. Recent clues are remembered in this browser so another expedition begins with fresh choices when available. Photo prompts change between spotting, framing, tracking and observing wildlife. Animals rotate through each habitat, with undiscovered species given priority.

Try collecting four different animals, taking five flawless photographs and typing forty correct characters in a row. These goals award expedition badges without inflating your typing score. The field journal still keeps your best photographs of twenty animals.

Ten gradual levels and a calmer alternative

Adventure mode gives each level three minutes of active play and automatically starts the next one. Every two levels changes the habitat. Photo opportunities shorten in small steps, with longer animal names receiving more time. Missing a photograph does not end the game or remove pictures already collected. After level ten, your expedition summary shows speed, accuracy, photographs and missed opportunities.

Calm exploration removes both the level timer and encounter deadlines. Eight photographs advance a level, so beginners can explore at their own pace. Use Finish whenever you want to save the current session. Pause freezes the expedition, and switching to another browser tab pauses it automatically.

Photographs, accuracy and your journal

Completing a photo prompt earns one photograph. Errors made during that prompt lower the photo's quality; correcting them still lets you finish. The journal keeps the best quality achieved for each animal, with one to three stars. Already discovered animals can appear again, giving you a chance to improve their photographs. Speed and accuracy in a game are practice measures and do not qualify for a typing certificate.

Journal discoveries are stored in this browser. Session results use the site's existing game history and supported account progress sync. Paused time is excluded, and results are saved once per completed level plus the final partial level. Private browsing or clearing site data can remove a guest journal. This first release does not claim cross-device journal backup.

Desktop and mobile controls

Start with the button or type the first displayed clue letter. Use your keyboard directly without an extra visible input field. On a phone, tap Open keyboard; the current word remains visible while the software keyboard is open. Escape pauses and resumes the game. Sound effects can be switched off, and reduced-motion preferences simplify movement.

Typing uses individual letters and spaces; pasted text and automatic whole-word replacement do not complete encounters. If you miss a word, the result screen offers targeted practice, followed by a fresh expedition. For structured finger placement, use the typing course. For weak keys, try the Typing Speed Improver. Check sustained speed with the typing tests, or continue an illustrated adventure in Typing Food Express.

Is Typing Quest a Premium game?

Typing Quest is labelled Premium. Full play is subject to the game’s entitlement check, including an active eligible plan or authorised tester preview. If the game remains locked, review available plans.

Can children play without time pressure?

Choose Calm exploration before starting. There are no encounter deadlines, and eight photographs move you to the next level. The same journal and typing guidance remain available.

What happens if I miss an animal?

It leaves and a new clue appears. Your existing photographs stay in the journal, and the missed word becomes available for practice at the end.
