What this numpad proficiency certificate measures

The Numpad Proficiency Certificate records performance from a dedicated numeric keypad typing test at TypingTutor.Online. The test uses mixed digits, decimal values and arithmetic operators, so it covers more than one repeated key. It is suitable for learners who want a measurable milestone after numeric entry practice.

To qualify, complete five active minutes at a displayed speed of at least 60 correct keys per minute and at least 95% accuracy. These are this website’s own certificate requirements. They are not a claim of government recognition, professional accreditation, employer acceptance or an industry-wide passing standard.

How to take the certificate test

  1. Open the dedicated certificate test using the Start button above. Its Mixed Numpad mode and five-minute duration are fixed.
  2. Use a comfortable keypad position and enter the highlighted characters. The first key starts the timer.
  3. Complete the full test. Inactivity and hidden-tab pauses are excluded from active test time; resuming continues your attempt.
  4. Read your correct KPM, accuracy and errors. If you qualify, choose Create Numpad Proficiency Certificate on that result.
  5. Enter your certificate details and wait for the verification record to be saved before downloading or sharing.

A short attempt, an easier practice mode, or simply opening lessons does not qualify. If you miss the target, practise calmly and try the dedicated test again. The certificate link from a result uses that specific saved attempt, so a different score is not silently substituted.

Correct KPM, accuracy and test conditions

Correct keys per minute is calculated from correctly entered characters divided by active minutes. Wrong entries are counted as errors and are excluded from the correct-key speed total. Accuracy is correct entries divided by all correct and incorrect entries, expressed as a percentage. Displayed KPM and accuracy are rounded to whole numbers; qualification uses those same displayed values.

The test supports physical keyboard input and the on-screen numeric keypad. It does not authenticate which hardware you used. Practise on a physical numpad if your goal is familiarity with a 10-key layout, and describe your input method honestly when presenting the result. The test is online and unproctored; no supervisor checks the learner’s identity, keyboard or surroundings.

The certificate shows correct KPM, accuracy, five-minute test duration, learner name, test date and a unique certificate ID. It uses numeric keypad units rather than converting your result into alphabet typing WPM or promising a particular data-entry job performance.

Download and public verification

Qualifying learners can create a PDF for printing or a PNG image for sharing. The certificate’s QR code and verification link lead to the same saved public record. A recipient can check the certificate ID without needing access to your browser. Your email is not printed on the certificate or exposed by public verification.

Public verification confirms that TypingTutor.Online saved the certificate record. It does not convert an unproctored attempt into an independently supervised examination. If saving fails, keep the local copy and retry verification from My Certificates. Progress and test history remain subject to your existing browser storage and account sync settings.

Proficiency and course completion are different awards

The Numpad Course Completion Certificate recognises finishing all 24 numpad lessons. This proficiency certificate recognises meeting a performance target in its timed test. Neither award automatically grants the other. You may earn both, and Premium access does not replace either set of requirements.

Both paths are available to free learners. If you are new to numeric keypad typing, work through the Numpad Typing Course, review difficult keys, and use ordinary numpad tests to practise before attempting this certificate. You can compare your saved test performance in Numpad Statistics.

Numpad proficiency questions

What score do I need for the numpad proficiency certificate?

Complete five active minutes in the dedicated Mixed Numpad certificate test, at 60 or more correct keys per minute and at least 95% accuracy. These are TypingTutor.Online requirements, not an external accreditation standard.

What does correct KPM mean?

Correct KPM is the number of correctly entered numeric keypad characters divided by active test minutes, rounded to a whole number. Errors reduce accuracy and do not count toward correct KPM.

Do I need to finish the course first?

No. The proficiency certificate is earned through its test. The separate course completion certificate requires all 24 lessons.

Can I use the on-screen keypad?

Yes. Both keyboard and on-screen keypad input are supported. This unproctored test does not authenticate the hardware or supervise the learner.

Is the certificate free?

Yes. You can take the test and create a qualifying certificate without buying Premium.

How is my certificate verified?

After the record is saved, its certificate ID and QR link open a public verification page. Verification confirms the saved record, not independently supervised test conditions.
