Phone typing is a separate skill from physical-keyboard touch typing.
Learn a practical left/right thumb rhythm without forcing rigid finger rules onto a touchscreen.
Messages, short emails, dates, prices and mixed text make practice feel useful immediately.
Your mobile key statistics are stored separately from desktop results, so phone practice does not replace your physical-keyboard bests.
Mobile typing lessons are guided exercises designed for touchscreen keyboards rather than physical-keyboard finger positions. This course keeps the learning path deliberately short: five focused lessons that teach a comfortable two-thumb rhythm, smoother movement across the phone keyboard, everyday messages, numbers and symbols, and realistic mixed mobile typing. You use your normal phone keyboard throughout, so the skill transfers directly to messages, notes, search, forms and email.
The course starts with technique but does not force rigid desktop-style finger rules onto a touchscreen. The left and right sides of the keyboard are suggested as thumb zones, while middle keys can be reached by whichever thumb feels natural for your phone size and grip. The goal is relaxed coordination and accuracy first, followed by speed.
Learn a simple left/right thumb rhythm and practise easy lowercase text without rushing. This lesson introduces the phone-specific technique used throughout the course.
Move smoothly between both sides of the keyboard. The focus is sharing the workload between thumbs rather than letting one thumb do most of the typing.
Type short phrases and everyday messages. This makes the practice more realistic than isolated key drills and helps build natural word rhythm.
Practise dates, prices, punctuation, email-style text and mixed phone writing so you can switch keyboard layers without losing accuracy.
After the lessons, continue with Mobile Typing Practice, check progress in the in-module Mobile Typing Test, or build rhythm with Thumb Tap. If you are using a laptop or desktop with a physical keyboard, open the Desktop Typing Tutor instead.
The course has five short lessons. It is intentionally smaller than a traditional desktop touch-typing course because phone typing relies on a touchscreen and usually one or two thumbs rather than ten-finger home-row technique.
Two thumbs are the recommended default for comfortable two-handed phone typing, but the course does not punish natural crossover on middle keys. Device size, grip and hand size can change which thumb feels best.
No. Use your normal phone keyboard. Keeping the same keyboard makes the practice more useful for everyday phone typing.
